Brooks Koepka’s time on the LIV Golf tour went poorly, to say the least.
The five-time major winner saw his form deteriorate while playing on the Saudi-backed league, and never truly looked happy after signing in 2022. Brooks Koepka had just one top five on the 2025 LIV season and finished 31st in the individual standings.
Koepka became the first star name to jump ship from LIV and return to the PGA Tour, and now all eyes are on him to see if he will recapture his former form from years past. If Koepka is back to his brilliant best on the PGA Tour, it could open the floodgates for other out-of-form players to seek a return.
And according to Alice Cooper, signs for Koepka are good. The rockstar saw something from Koepka during his time in Portugal that makes him think Koepka will play well on tour this year.
Cooper is a massive golf fan and credits the sport for saving him from alcohol addiction. He’s more than just a player, as Cooper also co-hosts a podcast with professional golfer Rocco Mediate called Rolling the Rock.
And on that podcast, he revealed that he was playing behind Koepka in Portugal and was massively impressed by his play.
Cooper said, “I saw him in Portugal, he played right in front of us in Portugal, and he was hitting the ball unearthly, how far he was hitting it. And he was in a very good mood.
“You always see him on TV being very tough. This was a different Koepka. This was party boy Koepka, where he was really having a good time. So that was the guy, maybe that’s the guy that will show up.”
If Koepka is indeed back to his best this season, then he may well be in contention for all four major championships in 2026.
Koepka has persistently struggled with knee and hip injuries in the early 2020s, but luckily for the American, he enters this season in good health, according to reports.
He did have a notable withdrawal from the LIV Dallas event in June 2025, though no long-term injury was officially reported following that exit.
Golf Channel analyst Robert Damron confirmed as much on his X account. He replied to a post speculating about Koepka’s health, saying, “Word is that he’s good to go…”. That’s great news.
Koepka is scheduled to make his official PGA Tour comeback at the Farmers Insurance Open at the end of January, followed by the WM Phoenix Open. These back-to-back starts will be a big test for his durability and his ability to compete with the world’s elite on a weekly basis once again.
