The Masters kicks off on Thursday morning, and former LSU golfer and PGA Tour winner, Sam Burns, is set to begin his quest for the green jacket later in the afternoon.
The Masters is the most prestigious golf tournament in the world, and if you ask any professional golfer, it's the tournament they want to win the most. Defending champ, Scottie Scheffler, has won two of the last three tournaments and is the odds-on favorite to repeat as champion, but anything can happen at Augusta National.
One of the 95 contestants in the 2025 Masters Tournament is former LSU golfer, Sam Burns. He's making his fourth career Masters appearance and hopes to slip his arms into the green jacket on Sunday.
Unfortunately for Burns, he doesn't have the best track record at Augusta. In three appearances, Burns has made the cut one time in 2023, when he placed T-29. He shot a 68 on Thursday that year, but a 78 on Saturday wrecked any chances he had to win.
Burns also hasn't been playing his best golf recently. After making the cut in his first six tournaments of the year, Burns has failed to make the cut in each of his last three outings. He'll need to make a complete 180 if he wants to contend for the green jacket this year.
Here's how you can watch Sam Burns and others at The Masters on Thursday:
