United States star gymnast Simone Biles won three gold medals and a silver medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris last summer bringing her total to seven gold medals and 11 total medals during her Olympics career.
But is she done competing yet? At 28 years old, Biles is already older than most gymnasts who would be competing in the sport, but she hasn't quite ruled out an appearance at the 2028 Games where she would be 31.
"Everyone likes to talk about L.A. and what that road looks like for me," Biles said. "So, currently, I am taking some time off from the gym because I think it's really important that your physical health matches your mental health. That’s why you saw so much of my success in Paris, because the mental and the physical were right on par. They were right on track with each other, so I think that’s really, really important."
Not long after sharing her decision to take some time off, Biles took to social media with a new video showing the star gymnast tumbling for the first time in a year while revealing her new house and surgical procedure.
"Okay so I actually haven't flipped in a year, but we're in our new house so here we go," she said in the video before performing two back flips on the trampoline. A caption on the post reads, "first flip, in a year, at the new house, with new [cherry emoji]."
While Biles hasn't made a final decision on competing at the 2028 Olympics, she suggested she would be at the Los Angeles Games "in some capacity."
"I just don’t know right now if it’s on the floor or in the stands," Biles clarified. "But I definitely want to go and be a part of that movement."
