Simone Biles showed fans what a restorative break looks like. She took to social media to share a glimpse into her personal life and her latest trip.

The update came in the form of an Instagram story where she posted a carousel documenting a vacation in Belize with her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens. Biles captioned the collection of photos, writing, “till next time Belize.”

The post captured the couple enjoying moments of happiness and relaxation. It was clear that this getaway was focused on rest and recovery after a challenging period.

The Instagram story featured open ocean views and moments spent relaxing at a resort pool and deck area. Slides showed the pair holding hands on the sand and sharing intimate poses. Another slide highlighted Owens enjoying some time out on the water during a fishing trip.

Belize is tied closely to her family, as her mother and maternal family members were born and raised there. Because of these roots, Biles and her siblings hold dual U.S. and Belizean citizenship.

Owens showed his support by leaving a comment on one of his wife’s swimsuit posts, writing, “My views on vacay >>.”

The moments in paradise arrived just days after Biles shared about a crisis she was dealing with. The trip was not just a break, but a necessary step towards her mental well-being.

Why This Vacation Was Essential for Simone Biles Personally?

As per the Parade reports, earlier in June 2026, Biles experienced a medical emergency. She shared temporary updates on her Instagram Stories that included photos of hospital bracelets on her arm.

She described this as one of the scariest experiences of her entire life, made harder because Owens was away attending mandatory NFL offseason practices in Indianapolis.

Following her release from the hospital, Biles spent two weeks on strict bed rest at home. The trip to Belize became a space for her body to heal.

Despite the serious nature of her health scare, some social media users criticized Biles for traveling and posting happy updates. One user even complained about the physical affection in the photos, calling it too much.

This focus on personal health comes after Biles cemented her legendary sports legacy at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she won three gold medals and one silver.

As of June 2026, she has not announced any upcoming gymnastics competitions and is focused on her life outside of sports.

She has not ruled out an appearance at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. She will also continue to host her annual Biles Invitational in Houston, scheduled for January 2027.
