Ryan Day has had tremendous success at Ohio State since he took over the program in 2018, and it would appear he has passed that winning mentality down to his son.
Day's son, RJ Day, is a star quarterback at St. Frances DeSales High School in Columbus, Ohio. On Friday night, the junior led his team to a thrilling 33-29 win over Ashland High School in an OHSAA Region 7 playoff game. RJ Day also made some history in the process, at least unofficially.
RJ Day threw for an unofficial 482 passing yards, which St. Frances DeSales says would be a school record. He also had three touchdown passes.
RJ Day threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Karhoff to win the game.
DeSales 33, Ashland 29, final! RJ Day sets a school-record with unofficially 482 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. Jordan Karhoff's 4-yarder was the game-winner, part of 7 catch 103 yard night. Dax Middleton finished with 10 catches for 226 yards.

RJ Day is a three-star prospect who is ranked by Rivals as the No. 32 player in the state of Ohio. He has received scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Syracuse, Boston College, Akron and a few other programs.
While RJ Day is not viewed as one of the top QB prospects in the nation, many have wondered if he will wind up playing for his father at Ohio State. The belief is that he does not want to go that route, however.
RJ Day still has another full season of high school left, so it is possible his stock could rise significantly. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound quarterback will likely receive several more scholarship offers in the coming months, especially if he continues on his current path.
