The Daily Racing Form reported Tuesday that Frankie Dettori has picked up the Kentucky Derby mount aboard Society Man, last-out second-place finisher in the Grade 2 Wood Memorial.

Trained by Danny Gargan, the 3-year-old son of Good Magic is one-for-five lifetime. His runner-up finish in the Wood came at odds of 107-to-1, following a maiden-breaking effort in his fourth lifetime start.

"I'm excited to have [Dettori]," Gargan told DRF. "He's riding great. I know it's a race he wants to be in and a race he wants to win."

Dettori last rode in the Kentucky Derby in 2000, when he finished sixth aboard China Visit.
