As he begins his quest for a third consecutive Indianapolis 500 victory, Team Penske driver Josef Newgarden will have the hottest ticket in town in his hands this Thursday, March 6.

Newgarden and IndyCar and Indianapolis Motor Speedway President J. Douglas Boles will have a rather unique unveiling of the admission ticket for this year’s 109th running of the Greatest Spectacle In Racing, featuring Newgarden's name and artwork.

The pair will reveal the ticket at 10:30 a.m. ET in a public presentation at the Indianapolis International Airport’s Civic Plaza.

Then in a unique twist, Newgarden, Boles and the 2025 ticket will hop a Southwest Airlines nonstop flight to Newgarden’s hometown of Nashville, TN.

While in the air, the pair will interact with passengers and race fans and promote the race.

Upon arrival in Nashville, the party will continue as Newgarden and Boles take part in a fan event from 4 to 6 p.m. CT at Big Machine Distillery and Tavern.

Also on display in the Music City event will be the Borg-Warner Trophy, which features images of all past winners of the 500.

Boles recently told Indianapolis TV station WISH that ticket sales for the 500 are up for the second straight year.

“When you fall in love with the Indianapolis 500 and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, you start asking your friends to come and you bring more family members and that’s what makes that event so cool,” Boles said. “And it really is about the fans. Without fans, this thing isn’t getting ready to celebrate 109 years.

"So just that momentum and feeling those fans and how much they love it is pretty cool.”

Boles also said of the possibility of a three-peat by Newgarden in the 500: “I know in his head he says, ‘Okay, I’m relaxed now. I don’t really care about the three-peat.’ I think the pressure of trying to be three-peat, it will be interesting to see how focused he gets in the month of May.”
