But Rowe's first career Indy NXT win also makes him the first Black driver to ever win a race in the Indy NXT Series, making his victory even more historic.

Rowe held off championship leader Dennis Hauger to score the win by a margin of 1.39 seconds.
"It means a lot to me," Rowe said in a post-race news conference regarding his accomplishment. "It's great that this is a first, but I'm looking for multiple wins and to carry that on to IndyCar."
Making Rowe's first career win even more special was the fact that his family was at the racetrack and able to celebrate with him.

"I have such a good support system," Rowe said. "I wouldn't ask for it any other way, from my family to my friends, to the team, even in the series it has no ends. When I win, I feel like a lot of other people win, which is something great to be a part of."
"I'm super proud to be able to represent and be winning now," he continued. "It's super crucial to see somebody that looks like you doing well - someone to look up to, especially if you're younger. I was one of those kids before. With that passion and desire, here I am. I was one of those kids who believed anything was possible. I hope other kids will continue to believe that."
