NTT IndyCar Series taking over streets of Arlington in 2026

The NTT IndyCar Series is coming to the streets of Arlington, Texas, in 2026.

The news was announced through a collaboration between Penske Entertainment, which owns the INDYCAR Series, the Dallas Cowboys and REV Entertainment, the official events partner of the Texas Rangers.

The distance of the street course is 2.73 miles and it will wrap around the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium and the Rangers' Globe Life Field.

This will mark the IndyCar Series' return to Texas for the first time since it visited Texas Motor Speedway in 2023, which had previously hosted IndyCar races dating back to 1997.

"Through a truly remarkable and innovative partnership, we're going to build racing's next global spectacle," said Roger Penske, chairman of the Penske Corporation. "Everyone involved is fully committed to delivering an incredible and unique event weekend for the city of Arlington, anchored by the stars of the NTT INDYCAR Series. We're grateful to the Cowboys, Rangers and REV Entertainment for entering into this partnership with us, and of course, to Arlington's leadership team for their excitement and ongoing support."

According to Jenna Fryer of the Associated Press, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he was all in "as soon as I saw Roger Penske's name."

A special event was held on Tuesday in the wake of Monday's initial details. That event gave drivers and fans a first look at the track layout.

It looks like the track layout consists of a mix of high-speed straightaways and technical sections, which should present some challenges for drivers and teams.

There is already a lot of preparation happening well over a year until the event actually takes place, headed by veteran motorsport industry executive Bill Miller. Miller will serve as president of the IndyCar Grand Prix of Arlington.

Fans planning on attending the IndyCar Grand Prix of Arlington should expect a weekend filled with racing and entertainment. While a street race is nothing new to the NTT IndyCar Series, the magnitude of a race on the streets of Arlington is something that cannot be ignored and should provide plenty of intrigue as race weekend draws closer.

While a date and time dave not been announced for the race, the IndyCar Grand Prix of Arlington is set for March 2026 and will be broadcast on FOX.
