20 under-the-radar beautiful spring break destinations

If you’re looking for a spring break destination that’s not full of college-aged spring breakers, Castries, the capital of St. Lucia, is great. There’s lots to do, and the views are stunning. You’ll get gorgeous weather and a beach vacation out of it. 

London isn’t known for having great weather, but you’ll have a decent shot at having clear skies and mild temperatures if visiting in the spring. It’s a great time to walk around the city and explore the history and culture. 

Paris, France, is beautiful in the spring. The plants around the city are in bloom, and the weather is gorgeous. Spring is also a great time to travel throughout France, so if you’re looking to see the entire country, book a trip in April or May. 

People love to visit Washington, D.C., in the spring for the National Cherry Blossom Festival, but there are many other reasons for making that your time to visit. Washington, D.C., is a walkable city with loads of historical sites, but it’s much more pleasant to see everything when the weather isn’t too cold or too stifling. 

You’ll find that spring is a great time to visit Rome. Italy is one of the most popular destinations for tourists in the summer, so visiting in the spring will allow you to miss the crowds and get a closer look at all the rich history.  

Seoul can be a little chilly in the spring, but it’s absolutely beautiful. Tourists and locals alike will agree that spring is the best season for visiting the city. It’s also gorgeous that time of year, thanks to its many cherry blossoms. 

Another Asian city that’s stupendous in the spring is Kyoto. The famed Japanese location is also rife with cherry blossoms in the spring, and the weather is great. There’s also lots to do in Kyoto as it’s known for having lots of authentic culture and good food. 

Australia's seasons are opposite of America’s, so visiting when it’s spring in the United States is actually visiting in autumn in Perth, and vice versa. However, the weather will be great at either time. 

Once April hits in Montreal, the weather starts turning from frigid and unappealing to most people to mild and much more tolerable. There’s so much to do in Montreal, and you’ll have a much better time doing it all if you visit in the spring. 

Any waterfall enthusiast should try to see Victoria Falls in the spring. The water levels will be higher, the temperatures will be milder, and the rainy season will have ended. You’ll get to see a stunning view in gorgeous weather. 

Moscow might not be on everybody’s bucket list, but consider visiting in the spring if it’s on yours. The Russian city offers much warmer temperatures in the spring than the intense winter weather, and there are many festivals to attend in the lovely season. 

Istanbul is becoming a destination for people in search of beauty procedures, but it’s still a great place to visit, even if you don’t want to alter your body while there. Visit in the spring for sunshine and lots of unique activities. 

South Africa, like Australia, is also in a different hemisphere than North America, making its seasons opposite ours. But whether you visit Cape Town in its true spring or your own, you’ll still get great weather and have lots to do. 

Spring break in Mexico typically comes with a beach, but if you want to see a mainland city, opt for Oaxaca. And keep your trip in the spring. Your flight might be full of spring breakers, but your visit will be much more lowkey. Oaxaca is full of culture and tradition, making for a fabulous experience. 

Vienna’s weather in the spring isn’t always stable, but you won’t even mind with all there is to do at that time of year. The Austrian city is full of parks with blooming flowers, fun festivals, and unmatched concerts. 

Berlin is another great European city to visit in the spring for many of the same reasons as other places on the continent. March and April still might be a little cold for a visit, but May is a great time if you prefer warmer temperatures. 

Cartagena, Colombia, is a fabulous place for a true spring break. It’s got the city, and it’s got the beach, and it’s hot in March. It’ll be a different spring break experience than what other countries offer, making for an unforgettable trip. 

While Lisbon is another European city, and its spring temperatures and activities are certainly a draw, it also has a totally different feel than many other cities across the continent. A spring trip to Lisbon will be unlike a trip to any other place. 

There’s so much to see and do in Marrakech, and you’ll want to do it in the spring. The weather will be great, and you’ll have fewer other tourists to contend with than you would in the summer. 

Sedona is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States, and for good reason. It’s got gorgeous scenery that people absolutely love. Visiting in the spring will help you avoid the intense heat that accompanies Arizona in the summer.
