Every year, the Cape Cod League is home to some of the best collegiate performers from the past year. That’s no exception in 2025. Brewster’s 2025 team includes several high-octane hitters, including potential 2026 first-rounder Daniel Cuvet.
With Ryder Helfrick in the College World Series, this group lost some power. However, there’s still plenty of talent here.
Alex Sosa took over the reigns from Jacob Cozart as NC State’s primary catcher in 2025 and did relatively well. Sosa hit 10 home runs and 26 extra-base hits, putting himself back on the draft radar after being an interesting prospect out of high school two years ago.
He’s one of three ACC catchers on the Whitecaps.
Georgia Tech freshman Drew Rogers hit .269 with six home runs as a freshman, while Carson Tinney was one of the best offensive catchers in the NCAA last season. Tinney hit .348 with 17 home runs for the Fighting Irish in 2025.
It’s safe to say all eyes will be on Daniel Cuvet.
Cuvet shined as a freshman with Miami (FL) last year, then hit .314 with six home runs with Brewster last season. He’s already proven he can hit with wood bats, so the goal is simple: continue the momentum as he pushes towards being a first-rounder next season.
Aside from Cuvet, there’s a lot of intrigue here.
Collin Priest is a big power hitter from Clemson but struggled against the advanced competition. Priest hit .279 with 11 home runs in 2024 before joining the Tigers. But with Clemson, his slugging percentage dropped to .480, down significantly from .578 in 2024, and he struck out more.
Then, there’s Dalton Wentz. Wentz is arguably the second-best hitter on this roster, aside from Cuvet. He’s what scouts would call athletic at the plate, widespread and slightly crouched at the plate. And, he’ll be a focal point of the Demon Deacons’ offense next season with Marek Houston and Ethan Conrad heading out.
The 19-year-old, eligible for the 2026 MLB Draft, hit .316 with 13 home runs and 27 extra-base hits in his freshman season. There’s power (and strikeouts) in his game.
Dylan Palmer, the wiry infielder from Hofstra who’s been among the best contact hitters in the NCAA each of the last two seasons, was on the initial roster. Instead, Erik Paulsen, from Stony Brook to the east, is here. The 20-year-old Paulsen had a breakthrough campaign with the Seawolves, with a 1.038 OPS in his sophomore season.
Blake Cyr looked like a potential early-round pick two years ago after he hit .307 with 17 home runs as a freshman with Miami (FL). Since then, Cyr’s failed to hit for that much power and ultimately, saw his production dip. The now-Florida Gator only hit .254 this season in Gainesville, as he now looks to get his collegiate career back on track.
Cyr is one of the few draft-eligible players on this list.
Michael DiMartini was one of the best overall hitters this past spring. His 96 hits put him in the top 10 of Division I in 2025.
BC placed two outfielders here: draft-eligible outfielder Josiah Ragsdale and Adam Magpoc. Magpoc is a short infielder/outfielder who hit well in his freshman season but struck out more as a sophomore. However, he’s toolsy; there’s good speed there, as he picked up 27 in 2025.
Ragsdale, meanwhile, led the Eagles with 66 hits after coming over as a transfer from Iona.
The initial list of pitchers had Owen Kramkowski and Jacob Morrison, both in the College World Series. However, there’s still talent abounding.
The future of Wake Forest’s pitching staff is here. Left-hander Haiden Leffew struck out 59 over 34 innings as a sophomore. Duncan Marsten, meanwhile, only made eight appearances last year but was a top high school prospect in 2024. He was part of Wake Forest’s deep freshman recruit list in 2024-25.
Other notable names include Justin Shadek, the ace of Rutgers’ 2025 team, and incoming junior Alex Philpott. Philpott had ERAs north of 7.00 in his first two seasons with the Gators, thanks in part to 12 home runs conceded over 67 total college innings.
