Yet again, it’s wait-and-see on Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio. Milwaukee’s brass noted during their off day that Chourio is dealing with lingering hamstring soreness, yet another storyline heading into Game 3 in Chicago. Additionally, the Guardians — who were eliminated from the playoffs last week — had updates on several injured players who went down during the final month of the regular season.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy indicated that Jackson Chourio, who did play Game 2 of the NLDS against the Cubs, is dealing with hamstring tightness. Murphy stated that Chourio was dealing with more discomfort in his leg.
Chourio was subbed out late in favor of Brandon Lockridge.
The plan on October 7 was to get Chourio treatment and then hope he’d be ready to go in time for Game 3, which falls on October 8. He initially injured his hamstring during Game 1 of that series.
Milwaukee heads into that game with a 2-0 series lead on the Cubs.
Now that the Guardians’ season is over, we now have updates on several injured players.
Nic Enright will likely miss all of 2026, as he’ll require Tommy John surgery. Enright, a 28-year-old rookie, pitched very well in 2025 for Cleveland. The right-hander struck out 30 over 31 and significantly limited well-hit (6% Barrel%) contact. It was a positive season on paper for the former 20th-round pick who went through a lot to make it to the Majors.
He last appeared in a MLB game on September 2. Enright went on the IL with elbow inflammation on September 4.
As for David Fry, the Guardians’ utlilityman was set to have surgery to repair nasal fractures suffered last month. Fry was injured on a foul bunt attempt off a 99 MPH fastball from Tarik Skubal.
