It was a quieter day on the injury front, as several teams had an off day. However, there was notable news, including an update on Orioles pitcher Grayson Rodriguez. And for the O’s, it wasn’t good news.

Rodriguez dealing with shoulder injury

The Orioles have been without Grayson Rodriguez for all of 2025 thus far, thanks to an elbow injury. Unfortunately for Rodriguez, he hit another snag in his recovery, as the right-hander needed imaging on his shoulder done after he felt soreness.

Rodriguez had a bullpen session scratched on April 17. Per manager Brandon Hyde, the Orioles did not receive results on the shoulder before their game against the Guardians.

Langford on rehab assignment

The Rangers lost Wyatt Langford last week thanks to an oblique injury. However, Langford’s IL stint should be a short one.

Langford is on a rehab assignment with Frisco (AA). In his first game in over a week, Langford was the DH and went 1-3 with two runs scored and a home run.

Other injury news

Angels shortstop Zach Neto, who’s been rehabbing in Salt Lake (AAA) during his recovery from shoulder surgery, could get activated from the IL as early as April 18.

The Mets officially placed Jose Siri on the 10-day IL, allowing New York (NL) to call Max Kranick back up. Kranick was optioned to make room for Justin Hagenman, who pitched the bulk of the Mets’ game on April 16 for a sick Griffin Canning.

Cincinnati placed first baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand on the IL with low back inflammation.

The Marlins activated Connor Norby from the 10-day IL. Norby hadn’t played a game this season, as he was recovering from a left oblique strain.

Tampa activated Richie Palacios from the 10-day IL. Palacios missed the start of the year with a finger fracture.
