Baseball fans received injury updates on several 2025 AL All-Stars on August 4. Aaron Judge may be back very soon for the Yankees, while Isaac Paredes hasn’t been ruled out for the 2025 campaign. Grayson Rodriguez, though, won’t play this season for the Orioles.
The Yankees might get their MVP back on August 5.
Manager Aaron Boone stated on the 4th that “the plan” is for Judge to return to the Yankees’ lineup for the second game of their series against the Rangers. He will be limited to DH duties for now.
Boone also added that the team will have more info later this week on when he can return to the field.
Astros infielder Isaac Paredes has been on the injured list since July 20 after sustaining a hamstring strain. It was severe enough that Paredes may have needed surgery on it. But for now, that won’t happen.
The Astros confirmed Paredes has opted to rest and rehab the hamstring. He’s already received a PRP injection for it.
Had Paredes opted for surgery, it could have kept him out for six to seven months, per GM Dana Brown. That would end his 2025 season and, potentially, complicate his availability for the start of 2026.
If rehab goes well, Paredes might be able to return this season.
Grayson Rodriguez‘s 2025 season ended without a single pitch at the MLB level.
The team confirmed Rodriguez would undergo debridement surgery to remove excess bone from his elbow, a move hinted at last week by the Orioles.
Braves third baseman Austin Riley landed on the injured list with a strained lower abdominal muscle. Riley left the Speedway Classic after sustaining the injury in the first inning.
The Diamondbacks placed reliever Kevin Ginkel on the injured list with a right shoulder sprain. It’s retroactive to August 3.
Dodgers infielder Tommy Edman, who left the team’s game on August 3, was placed on the IL with a sprained ankle.
Twins pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson (illness) was placed on the IL.
Rockies reliever Seth Halvorsen, placed on the IL yesterday, was diagnosed with a mild flexor strain.
Johan Oviedo (Pirates), Max Muncy (Dodgers), Cade Povich (Orioles), and Tim Elko (White Sox) were removed from the injured list.
