2026 Transactions: Twins Promote Go, Mets Call Up Seelinger

This past week, the Tigers traded away two Minor League relievers to two different teams in cash trades. And on July 7, both are now in the Majors, as former Mud Hens Woo-Suk Go and Matt Seelinger were called up by their new teams.

Go promoted by Twins

The Twins selected relief pitcher Woo-Suk Go from Triple-A St. Paul.

Go was just acquired two days earlier in a cash trade with the Tigers. The right-hander originally signed with the Padres nearly three years ago, was traded to Miami in 2024 as part of the Luis Arraez deal, and landed with the Detroit organization one year ago.

He had a very good year before the promotion, as he struck out 54 over 41.1 IP and walked just 13. Low-to-mid-90s fastball, alongside a splitter, a slider, and a curveball for Go.

Seelinger called up by Mets

One day after the Mets traded for Matt Seelinger, the club selected his contract from Triple-A Syracuse.

Seelinger is a three-pitch pitcher who has a low-90s fastball that ran up to 95 MPH this season, coupled with a cutter and a slower knuckle-curve.

Guillo Zuniga and Alex Carrillo were designated for assignment by the Mets.
