After missing all of 2022 and 2024 thanks to injuries, Brendan Beck‘s journey to the Majors culminated on May 7, 2026. Beck was called up to the Yankees, one of the notable moves made on the day.
The Yankees selected & promoted Brendan Beck on May 7, and Beck made his MLB debut against the Rangers, pitching in bulk action to replace Ryan Weathers‘ innings.
Beck didn’t throw hard in the Minors but he was able to induce a lot of swing-and-miss in the Minors. Additionally, he was known for being a pitcher who loved to establish an advantage count in at-bats, as noted by his first-pitch strike rate that was over 70% last season in Double-A.
The 27-year-old was a second-round pick in 2021.
The Marlins selected the contract of journeyman Minor League reliever Stephen Jones.
Jones, a 28-year-old with mid-90s velocity on both his four-seamer and two-seamer, only allowed 10 hits over 16.2 IP with Double-A Pensacola. He didn’t induce much swing-and-miss but did have 19 strikeouts with the Blue Wahoos.
Gavin Hollowell (Cubs), Heriberto Hernandez (Marlins), and Cam Sanders (Pirates) were recalled to Triple-A.
Graham Pauley (Marlins), Dax Fulton (Marlins), Yerry De Los Santos (Yankees), Jason Alexander (Astros), and Jordan Leasure (White Sox) were optioned to Triple-A.
The Rockies signed ex-Angels reliever Jordan Romano to a Minor League deal. He was assigned to the ACL.
Philadelphia claimed pitcher Grant Holman off waivers from the Tigers. He was optioned & assigned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Austin Wynns (Athletics) and Corbin Martin (Cubs) were designated for assignment.
