Jasson Dominguez hit three home runs, including his first-career grand slam, and drove in seven runs in the Yankees' 10-2 win over the Athletics Friday. Dominguez became the youngest Yankee to hit three out in one game.
The 22-year-old hadn't even clubbed two home runs in a game, let alone three. The former top prospect was excellent from both sides of the plate, and his performance felt like an eruption from a dormant volcano.
It was never a matter of will Dominguez was going to show off his power ceiling, but when.

Clearly, Yankees manager Aaron Boone had those same thoughts, as he sent a clear message following the Martian's outburst.
"He just needs to play,” Boone said. “It’s just the experience with him. He’s so talented.”
Boone has stayed true to that promise, as Dominguez has played in 32 of the Yankees' 38 games this season after missing nearly all of 2024 recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Dominguez made MLB history as well with his performance Friday.

"One from the right side, two from the left side, that obviously doesn’t happen that often,” Boone said. “It usually takes a pretty talented player to do something like that.”
"Tonight was special,” Domínguez said. “A very special night that I will remember.”
For a player who has spent more than his fair share of time in the minor leagues, the Yankees' first ever game at Sutter Health Park was probably quite comforting.
Dominguez has clearly earned an everyday role in this Yankees lineup, with his OPS skyrocketing to .802 after Friday's game.
