In what has not been a very good 48 hours for Aggies baseball, manager Michael Earley and the team announced that Gavin Grahovac would miss the rest of the year due to an ailment in his left shoulder. Last season, Grahovac batted .298 with a .390 OBP, with 23 home runs and had one of the best Freshman seasons in recent memory.
With Grahovac in the lineup, the Aggies were 5-1 with their only loss coming Sunday afternoon to Cal Poly in a 9th inning collapse, 3-2, which you can read more about here. This season, Grahovac wasn't off to quite as hot of a start but showed positive momentum throughout the series against Cal Poly.
Well, now what?
With the Texas State game set tomorrow, manager Michael Earley is going to have his first crisis as a manager. The Aggies will need to find a replacement 3B for Grahovac ASAP, and losing Grahovac means the Aggies will lose quite a bit of power in their offense that is definitively needed.
