'Alright, now I've got to do something cool' — Angels rookie Christian Moore comments on record setting night while giving hat tip to former Tennessee Vol

Former Tennessee Vols infielder Christian Moore really must like playing on June 24.  The VFL blasted a home run in the Vols' first-ever national championship-clinching win over Texas A&M 6-5 one year ago.

Then he had another big first on Tuesday night, becoming the first player in Major League Baseball history to hit game-tying and winning home runs while also driving in all of his teams runs in the Los Angeles Angels' win over the Boston Red Sox.

Moore swatted a home run to the left field corner in the bottom of the eighth to bring the game even at 1.  Then, down 2-1 in the tenth, he clubbed a pitch to right center that just got over the yellow line in right center.  He initially believed it was a triple, but it was ruled a home run, and he trotted home to his jubilant teammates.

Naturally, being the hero of the night, he was the postgame interviewee, and he says that he blacked out during his two big blasts in the contest.

"Really, just blacked out in both of those moments," Moore said. "Trying to put a good swing on it. Get a pitch over the middle of the plate and just do everything I can for those guys in the dugout.

"Just trying to get something over the middle of the plate. (Garrett) Crochet was good tonight, so we were trying to just get something across the board and got a heater I could handle and just put a good swing on it.

"[Zach Neto] made a crazy play, throwing a runner out, diving and everything and then that was super cool. And I came into the dugout, and I was like, 'alright, now I've got to do something cool', and just try to follow the lead."

Hard to do something cooler than slug a walk off home run, and now Moore has that notch in his MLB belt.

Moore also gave a shoutout to former Tennessee Vols pitcher and current Red Sox staff ace Garrett Crochet, who was brilliant again on Tuesday night.  Crochet went 7 scoreless innings, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 10, including Moore twice.

However, in the end, Moore and his Angels mates got the last laugh once Crochet finally left the mound.  A terrific day for both former Vols, but one that Moore, Angels fans, and Vol fans won't forget anytime soon.
