The Texas Rangers have added another round of new faces to the squad who will begin Spring Training in February. Free agent David Robertson is rumored to join the pitching rotation on February 14th. Robertson and the Rangers have reportedly agreed to a one-year $11-12 million contract. Jared Walsh, Blake Taylor, and Matt Duffy signed minor-league contracts. All three have been extended an invitation to Spring Training in Surprise, AZ.

He was named to the 2021 All-Star Team.

LHP – Blake Taylor

Drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2nd round of the 2013 Amateur Draft. Debut on July 24th, 2020, with the Houston Astros. Three years in the Majors, all with the Astros. 3.06 ERA, 92 appearances, 79.1 IP, 7-6 W/L record, one save, 4.65 FIP, 1.387 WHIP, 1 HR/9, 5 BB/9, 7.6 SO/9, and a career WAR of 1.

3B – Matt Duffy

Drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 18th round of the 2012 Amateur Draft. Debut on August 1st, 2014 for the Giants. Eight years in the Majors with the Giants (2014-2016), Tampa Bay Rays (2016-2019), Chicago Cubs (2021), Los Angeles Angels (2022), and the Kansas City Royals (2023), He slashed a .277/.335/.369 with 270 runs, 644 hits, 102 doubles, nine triples, 31 home runs, 231 RBIs, 41 stolen bases, 174 walks, .703 OPS, and a career WAR of 9.4. He was a member of the 2014 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants
