An update on Tyler Matzek

It appears that Tyler Matzek is inching closer to a return. The team announced today that his rehab assignment has been moved to AAA Gwinnett.

The #Braves today transferred the rehabilitation assignment of Tyler Matzek to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Matzek was originally assigned to the Augusta Green Jackets, which is the Braves A-ball affiliate, and was expected to make his first appearance since hitting the IL yesterday. Unfortunately, because of weather, it never came to fruition, but he’s still been promoted to AAA Gwinnett. I’m not sure if you should read anything into this, but it seems he’s one step closer to returning to Atlanta.
