The Los Angeles Angels have as much momentum as a 20-25 team could possibly have after sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road. They won 6-2 on Friday, 11-9 on Saturday, and 6-4 on Sunday, completing their first three-game Freeway Series sweep in 15 years ( via MLB).

The Angels are now just one game behind the Athletics for fourth place in the AL West, and have a four-game set against them in Sacramento beginning on Monday. Right-hander Jose Soriano (2-4, 3.46 ERA) will start for Los Angeles, while right-hander J.T. Ginn (1-1, 4.61 ERA) will start for the Athletics.

On the heels of their sweep of the Dodgers, Los Angeles announced an exciting roster move before the game on Monday, via Angels PR:

"The Angels have reinstated RHP Sam Bachman from the injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Salt Lake," the club announced.

Bachman had been on the injured list with thoracic outlet syndrome. He has 11 MLB career appearances, which were all for the Angels in 2023. The 25-year-old is 1-2 with a 3.18 ERA and 1.65 WHIP.

Los Angeles took Bachman ninth overall in the 2021 MLB Draft. The 6-foot-1-inch, 235-pounder is 5-11 with a 4.47 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 44 minor league games. Meanwhile, the Angels are 5-5 in their last 10 games and are 11-15 on the road. Their -59 run differential is 25th in baseball, one spot ahead of the Athletics (-61).

After their series vs. the Athletics, Los Angeles will host the Miami Marlins and New York Yankees before going back on the road to face the Cleveland Guardians and Boston Red Sox.
