The Los Angeles Angels are enduring a challenging stretch in the 2025 MLB season, currently holding a 13-20 record and residing at the bottom of the AL West standings. Their recent series against the Detroit Tigers highlighted their struggles, with the Angels losing three out of four games, including a 13-1 defeat where Tigers' Trey Sweeney and Kerry Carpenter combined for 11 RBIs. This series loss extended the Angels' difficulties, emphasizing the need for roster adjustments to address their pitching woes.

The Angels, who have now won just two of their last 10 games, seek to rebound when they welcome a Toronto Blue Jays side also looking for a momentum of their own.

In response to the current challenges, the Angels have made significant roster moves.

They announced the promotion of former Phillies relievers Héctor Neris and Connor Brogdon to the major league roster. Neris, known for his tenure with the Phillies and Astros, brings a career 3.42 ERA and 95 saves, offering experience to the bullpen. Brogdon, with a 10-8 record and a 3.97 ERA in 143 major league games, provides additional depth despite recent struggles in Triple-A.

Additionally, the Angels have reinstated infielder Yoán Moncada from the injured list, aiming to bolster their infield options. To accommodate these changes, infielder Niko Kavadas and right-hander Michael Darrell-Hicks were optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake, and right-hander Touki Toussaint was designated for assignment.

The Angels will hope these roster adjustments provide the necessary boost to their pitching staff and overall performance. The upcoming series against the Blue Jays presents an opportunity for the team to improve their standing in the league.
