The Los Angeles Angels stunned the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night with a 3-2 extra-inning victory, punctuated by a dramatic walk-off homer. After a scoreless duel early on, the Red Sox briefly seized a 1-0 lead, but Los Angeles rallied late to force extras. Veteran Garrett Crochet delivered seven shutout innings for Boston, striking out 10, only to watch the bullpen falter under pressure.

It was Christian Moore, the 22-year-old Angels rookie, who stole the show, erupting for two home runs. His first, a game-tying blast in the eighth inning off reliever Greg Weissert, knotted the score at 1-1.

In the top of the tenth, Boston struck for a run—but Moore again delivered, hammering a two-run walk-off homer off Justin Wilson to seal the win in stunning fashion.

Moore’s performance etched his name into the history books.

He became the first player in MLB history for whom all of the following occurred in the same game: a game-tying homer, a walk-off homer while trailing, and driving in all of his team’s runs.

The Angels’ top prospect and eighth overall pick in the 2024 draft, Moore has now homered three times in just his first 12 major league games. Following his big performance at home, Moore has just a .194 batting average with six RBIs, but continues to flash his potential as a cornerstone for the franchise.

The win now improves LA's standing—moving it to 39-40 and within striking distance of .500. LA will hope to take that momentum into Wednesday’s game, looking to capitalize on Moore’s electrifying performance.
