After a dominant 11-1 win on Thursday, the Los Angeles Angels are 8-4 and only a half-game behind the American League West leading Texas Rangers. They have seen the breakout of young players such as Kyren Paris, and the return of generational talent Mike Trout. With reinforcements like shortstop Zach Neto on the way soon, there is plenty to smile about in Anaheim.
One area of concern for the Angels is their bullpen. Closer Kenley Jansen has been stellar, and recorded his 450th career save on Tuesday, but the bullpen overall has been unreliable for LA.
So far this season, the Angels' bullpen ranks 27th in ERA (5.45), WHIP (1.68), and 25th in homers allowed (six). Additionally, 21-year-old pitcher Caden Dana was optioned to the minors earlier this week after surrendering four hits and two earned runs in three innings of work in his season debut out of the bullpen.
Dana is LA's second-rated prospect (via MLB.com), and after his demotion, the Angels may be in the market for a veteran reliever. In a new article from Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller , free-agent pitcher David Robertson was floated as a potential Angels target.
Jon Heyman of the New York Post also urged MLB teams on Thursday to take a look at Robertson.
David Robertson could help, oh, about 30 teams. Makes no sense he’s out of work.

The Angels could use a reliever like Robertson. Despite being 39 years old last season, Robertson was still a productive player. In 68 games pitched, he had a 3.00 ERA, 1.111 WHIP, and a 3.67 K/BB ratio. The right-handed reliever is also a one-time All-Star (2011).
If he signs to a team this season, Robertson would become just the fifth active player over the age of forty. His sixteen years of major league experience could provide valuable insight to a young Angels team while also giving them quality innings out of the bullpen.
