Angels Looking to Add More Bullpen Help This Offseason, Per Reports
USA TODAY Sports

One of the biggest priorities for the Los Angeles Angels this offseason has been to upgrade their pitching staff all around. They have been looking all over for help in the starting rotation, but they also have a need in the bullpen.

Angels general manager Perry Minasian has promised to be aggressive this winter in bringing in talent, and the Halos are at least putting themselves into the conversation. It remains to be seen if they will land any big names, but they are trying,

Fansided's Robert Murray is reporting that the Angels are among a large number of teams that are interested in adding bullpen help.

"In the words of one source, the bullpen market includes “damn near everyone.” Among those teams, sources say, include the New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs."

The Angels have already added a few pieces to their bullpen, but they want to make sure they have enough depth. They brought in Adam Kolark, Luis Garcia and Adam Cimber to the mix this offseason.

There are plenty of arms left on the market, and the bidding seems to just be getting started. They have expressed interest in signing veteran Robert Stephenson earlier in the winter, so maybe they circle back to him. The Angels are also one of the six teams pursuing RHP Ryan Brasier, per reports.

The team has a closer in Carlos Estevez, but they could look to upgrade. Maybe they go after someone like Josh Hader on the open market, and make sure they have a shutdown arm in the 9th inning.

No matter where the Angels decide to go, they are looking to be competitive. The biggest goal for them is breaking their long playoff drought, and they are hoping they can end it this coming season.
