The Los Angeles Angels (9-6) are entering a three-game series against Texas Rangers (9-7), which projects to be an exciting American League West battle. Los Angeles and Texas are the AL West's top-two teams entering play, and the only two with winning records in the early going. This series will be played in Texas, but the Angels have been good on the road this year with a 7-5 record.
The Angels will hope to continue their hot start against the 2023 World Series champions. Before doing so, they shuffled their roster around a bit.
Last week, the Angels announced Yoán Moncada had been placed on the injured list, paving the way for J.D. Davis' promotion from Triple-A. Additionally, the team announced LHP Jack Dashwood has been designated for assignment.
On Monday, the Angels announced Dashwood had cleared waivers and been sent to Salt Lake.

The 27-year-old Dashwood has yet to make his major league debut. In five minor league seasons, he owns a 5.45 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and a 10-7 record.
Dashwood will continue playing for the Salt Lake Bees, where he has spent time this season. In four games this season, the left-hander has a 54.00 ERA after giving up 12 runs in just two innings pitched.
Dashwood's arsenal features a four-seam fastball, a slider, a sinker, and a changeup. The southpaw has below average velocity, with his fastball clocking in at 92.3 MPH on average.
