Angels Mulling Options Ahead of Trade Deadline

With the MLB trade deadline less than a month away, teams like the Los Angeles Angels will have some important roster decisions to make.

The Angels are once again in the midst of a down season, entering Sunday in last place in a weak AL West at 36-54. They are on the verge of missing the postseason for a 12th straight year.

So of course, with the Angels' record being what it is, the expectation is that they will be sellers at the deadline. Their interim general manager, however, is not ready to go down that path.

During an appearance on MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM, Angels interim general manager John Mozeliak revealed that he has not spoken to any teams yet and is not ready to make any substantial moves.

"I have not had any substantial conversations with clubs, no names have been exchanged, nothing like that," Mozeliak said. "Most of the general managers that have reached out to me in the last week have mostly been via text."

"I think everybody understands that the draft is coming, we'll push off all trade deadline conversations until post-draft, but I do believe that past next weekend through the All-Star break, things will start to gain a little more momentum," Mozeliak added.
