Angels rally late, pull off 4-1 victory over Diamondbacks
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Chad Wallach scored a run and drove home an RBI as the Los Angeles Angels beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Wallach and Aaron Hicks were both 2-for-3 as the Angels (5-3) won their third straight Spring Training game. Griffin Canning gave up one run on three hits and recorded three strikeouts in the victory.

Ketel Marte went 2-for-3 at the plate and starter Logan Allen pitched a perfect two innings of no-hit, shutout baseball for the Diamondbacks (5-4) despite falling. Arizona registered one run on six hits in the loss.

Tucker Barnhart was the first runner to get the Diamondbacks on the board 1-0 courtesy of a sacrifice fly by Albert Almora Jr. to right field in the top of the second inning.

From there, the offenses from both teams couldn’t get anything firing as there were no other runs until the bottom of the sixth.

Smoking the ball to left off of Kyle Nelson, Hicks tied the game 1-1 with a solo homer.

In the seventh, Andrew Saalfrank got in a jam with a runner on second and third before an error.

Zach Neto got on base after a fielding error by Jordan Lawlar and Chad Wallach scored as a result. However, Saalfrank was able to get out of the tough position and allowed just a hit, run and walk in one inning of work.

To lock up the victory for the Angels, Cole Fontenelle hit an RBI double before Wallach batted in another run off of a single.
