Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani was struck on his right elbow pad by a pitch in the first inning of Sunday's loss to the Seattle Mariners.

While Ohtani remained in that game, the Angels scratched him from his scheduled home start Monday night against the Tampa Bay Rays. Per an ESPN story, left-hander Jose Quintana will take the bump in Ohtani's place versus the Rays.
Ohtani has one win in three starts with zero losses, a 3.29 ERA and 23 strikeouts across 13.2 innings of work this season. According to ESPN stats, he is one behind the MLB lead in home runs hit with eight on the campaign.
It's unclear if the 26-year-old will be available to bat Monday night or when he will take the mound for his next start.
The Angels began the week at 13-13 overall and in fourth place in the American League West standings, 2.5 games behind the leading Oakland Athletics (17-12).
