The Los Angeles Angels finally got back on track with a win on Thursday, mercifully putting an end to their record 14-game skid. Now, they might be getting back three-time MVP Mike Trout in time for a big weekend series at home against the New York Mets.

Trout suffered his groin injury during Tuesday night's game against the Boston Red Sox. The injury occurred the same day the Angels fired manager Joe Maddon amidst a then-12 game losing streak.
The nine-time All-Star is having another monster season, as he's currently slashing .284/.388/.601 with 14 home runs and 30 RBIs. Trout leads Los Angeles in home runs, runs scored (39), doubles (14) and walks (27).
The Angels enter Friday in second place in the AL West at 28-31, but nine games behind the division-leading Houston Astros.
