Coming off a Game 1 victory in the ALDS, the Chicago White Sox will have Anthony Kay taking the mound in this one. While we’re unsure how long Kay will go, he’s at least going to get the ball to start.
So far this postseason, we’ve only seen Kay for 2 innings, where he has a 0.00 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and a 1-0 record. With that being said, here’s a look into what Kay did over the course of the 2026 season.
In 2026, Kay pitched in 158 innings, posting a 4.44 ERA, 1.373 WHIP, 1.2 WAR, and a 10-9 record. Good numbers but certainly nothing special.
To get some more insight on Kay, let’s look at how he’s fared against the Cleveland Guardians up to this point. In 2026, Kay was great against Cleveland through 20 innings. Kay has a 1.35 ERA, a 1-0 record, 17 strikeouts, and 12 hits allowed during that span.
Playoff baseball is different, of course, but these are the kind of splits that White Sox fans want to see.
