Arizona Diamondbacks Make History In 1-0 Win Over Pittsburgh Pirates

The Arizona Diamondbacks made history last night when they defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0 in 11 innings. Arizona is the only MLB team in the modern era to win a game 1-0 in 11+ innings while surrendering one or no hits. A triple by Tommy Pham in the bottom of the 2nd inning was Pittsburgh’s only hit of the evening.

Arizona’s lone run was on a sacrifice fly by Eugenio Suarez in the top of the 11th frame. How will the Arizona Diamondbacks play over the remainder of this series?

The Arizona Diamondbacks are expected to be sellers at the trade deadline. They made their first move when they traded Josh Naylor to the Seattle Mariners earlier this week. There is also speculation that Suarez, having the season of his life, could be on his way out the door over the next week. There are conflicting reports regarding how aggressively the team will shed assets at the deadline.
