Arizona Diamondbacks Reportedly Secure Joc Pederson for the DH Spot
Rob Schumacher/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK

Finally getting their left-handed slugger, the Arizona Diamondbacks are reportedly signing Joc Pederson, per John Gambadoro.

Since 2020, Pederson has played with 4 different teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, and San Francisco Giants.

He won a World Series with the Dodgers in 2020 and with the Braves in 2021.

In Pederson’s prime with the Dodgers, he had multiple 25+ home run seasons. Last year with the Giants, Pederson finished with a .235 batting average to go with a .764 OPS.

Importantly, Pederson has 7 different postseason runs under his belt, which makes him an attractive veteran that brings experience to a young clubhouse.

According to Gambadoro, the deal he signed with the Diamondbacks is just one year. Pederson, nonetheless, is set to fill the designated hitter role, addressing the void the Diamondbacks aimed to fill this offseason.

The Diamondbacks’ other winter moves include re-signing outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr., signing third baseman Eugenio Suarez, and securing starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez.
