Arizona Diamondbacks Third Baseman Eugenio Suarez was honored for his great play over the last week. He was named the National League’s Player of the Week earlier today. He was 5-of-10 last week with 4 home runs. Suarez’s great form is not an aberration. He has 10 home runs and 17 RBI this month.
He has also hit Arizona’s last seven home runs. That is tied for the longest streak of a team’s homers by one player in at least the expansion era. He is having a career season. He is second in the league in home runs, leading the league in RBI, fourth in Slugging Percentage, and seventh in OPS. Will he be able to keep it going over the summer?

Suarez debuted with the Detroit Tigers in 2014. His tenure in the league has included stints with the Cincinnati Reds, Seattle Mariners, and Arizona Diamondbacks. He is also a two-time MLB All-Star.
Suarez will look to continue his hot streak when the Diamondbacks host the Houston Astros for the middle game of their three-game set. The third baseman has been the subject of rampant trade speculation. Whether he gets dealt or not, he is playing the best of his career.
