Astros Already Running Away With A Familiar Feat In 2022

So much for the Los Angeles Angels’ hot start.

The Houston Astros have reclaimed their spot atop the American League West division.

Not only that, but they have a record of 35-19, which is the second best in the American League behind the red-hot New York Yankees.

The Astros have been to three of the past five World Series and have won the AL West four of the last five seasons.

Mark Berman of FOX 26, Houston’s local FOX station, tweeted a screenshot of the AL West standings, which show the Astros ahead of the second-place Angels by a season-high 8.5 games.

“Houston, We Don’t Have A Problem”

The Astros are doing it again.

They’re back in familiar territory and are staking their claim in the AL West once again.

Of course, the rest of the baseball world hates to see it after the 2017 sign-stealing scandal, but like it or not, this team is the cream of the crop in the West.

If you’re going to go to the World Series, you’ve got to go through Houston.

They have been the best team in the American League since 2017 and still have a solid ballclub, even after the departure of Carlos Correa.

The return of Justin Verlander has helped some with that.

But as much as fans hate to see it, much less admit it, the road to the World Series goes through Houston.

They are beyond a shadow of a doubt the best team in the AL West and are headed towards yet another division title, which would be their fifth in the past six years.

The 11-game skid the Angels are on has helped, but at the end of the day, the depth and talent of this Houston team is unparalleled by any in the West.
