Astros Coach Got Some Special Intel From His Dad
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Troy Snitker, the son of Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker, is the hitting coach for the American League champion Houston Astros, who are set to take on the resilient Philadelphia Phillies in the Fall Classic starting tonight.

The Braves obviously defeated the Astros in the World Series last October, winning the series in six games to take home their first championship since 1995.

Brian and the Braves are certainly privy to a lot of information about the Phillies, given that the two are division rivals.

Knowing this, Troy begged his father and members of the Braves’ staff to give him some intel on the Phillies before they met in the World Series.

World Series Bonding Time

Perhaps Troy was just trying to help give the Astros a bit of an edge in this World Series.

Brian certainly knows a lot about the Phillies, given that his Braves just fell short against them in the NLDS.

Troy just wanted to make certain that he had as much information as possible before the start of the series.

If the Braves couldn’t survive the Phillies, then the Astros are at risk of being upset by everybody’s favorite underdog.

So naturally, some father-son banter was needed in order for Troy and the Astros to be prepared to face the red-hot Phillies.

Philadelphia manhandled the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Wild Card Series before taking down the Braves in the NLDS and the San Diego Padres in the NLCS.

The Astros will be their toughest test yet.
