Astros Demote Player After Win Against White Sox

Ullola returns after an impressive first taste of the majors. The 24-year-old has allowed no runs while posting a 0.50 WHIP with seven strikeouts and no walks across four innings in two relief appearances this season.

The Astros view Ullola as another high-upside bullpen option as they manage workloads during a busy stretch before the trade deadline.

Teng heads back to Sugar Land after pitching in 25 games, including 10 starts, this season. The right-hander owns a 5-6 record with a 4.35 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 67 strikeouts across 68 1/3 innings.

His option appears driven more by roster management than performance. Teng threw 42 pitches over two innings Friday, making him unavailable for the remainder of the White Sox series while still possessing minor league options.

Houston has regularly rotated optionable pitchers to keep its bullpen fresh, especially with Hunter Brown recently returning from injury. Ullola will now have another opportunity to prove he belongs as the Astros continue their push toward the top of the AL West.
