The Athletics had a great series on the road against the Houston Astros. They swept them in a four-game series. The A’s outscored the Astros 32-7 over this four-game series. This came as such a shock because the Astros had one of the best records in baseball entering this series. Can the A’s keep it going next week?

The Athletics are in last place in the American League West. Their offense has been surprisingly strong. They are 12th in batting average , seventh in home runs, and 14th in runs scored. Shortstop Jacob Wilson is fifth in the league in batting average. First Baseman Nick Kurtz has also taken the league by storm in his rookie campaign.
The pitching staff of the ballclub has been a weakness. They are 28th in ERA, 28th in WHIP, and 27th in opposing batting average. No pitcher has stood out on the mound in 2025. If the Athletics could pair their offense with even a mediocre pitching staff, they would be in playoff contention.
The Athletics return to the diamond tomorrow when they host the Seattle Mariners for a three-game series. If the Sacramento-based ballclub can keep it going, they can salvage what has been another disappointing season.
