Baltimore Orioles Not Giving Up Despite Disappointing Season

It's been an awful start to the season for the Baltimore Orioles and their players, more than anyone, want to see things get better quickly. If Orioles fans think that the team has given up yet, then they should take a seat.

Designated hitter Ryan O'Hearn has expressed his frustration with the start. He's not holding back in his comments about it, either.

“This is frustrating. Losing sucks. It’s not fun,” O'Hearn said, MLB.com reported. “Nobody in here is having a good time, and I promise you nobody cares more than the guys in this clubhouse."

Baltimore is coming off getting swept in a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins. Heading into play on Friday, the Orioles are 15-27 overall. The 12 games below .500 is their lowest point since the Orioles finished 52-110 in the 2021 season.

“With that being said, we have to keep fighting," O'Hearn said. "There is no other option. You have to keep fighting. You can’t give up. You can’t give in. I believe in the guys in this clubhouse. We have talented players. We just have to keep fighting. There is no other option.”

Despite their record, the Orioles have time to turn it around. There's enough time left in the season for Baltimore to potentially find itself back in postseason play. Yes, Orioles fans, there is room for hope.

“You’ve got to be optimistic. I don’t ever show up to the ballpark thinking that we’re going to lose,” O’Hearn said. “It was a good series in Anaheim, and this feels like a kick in the [pants], for sure.”

Injuries have plagued the Orioles this season. In addition, their pitching staff has not been good. If manager Brandon Hyde can find some silver linings, then it's time to get them in the forefront of his players' minds.
