Beloved Phillies Outfielder Comments on Early Season Struggles

The beginning of the 2025 MLB season for the Philadelphia Phillies has been a tough one for multiple batters on the roster. Alec Bohm's struggles have been at the forefront, but there is another Phillies batter who's struggled to get things going.

In an article from Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia, beloved Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh commented on his poor start to the year.

"Yeah, you know... It's been a rough start to the season for sure. I'm not doing my part, which stinks the worst. Just feel like I'm letting my guys down. I need to be better for them."

Marsh's struggles have been severe, as he has just a .108 batting average, with just four hits on 37 at bats. Back on March 29 against the Washington Nationals, Marsh went three for five with a home run and three runs batted in. Since then, in 28 at bats Marsh has just one hit.

Marsh hasn't had a hit since March 30, and while he's managed the occasional walk or run, his season has been disastrous so far.

The 27-year-old came into the season with the promise of more playing time, getting opportunities against left-handed pitching. However, Marsh hasn't been able to hit anyone.

There is no immediate answer for the Phillies in replacing him. Johan Rojas has a better batting average, but his at-bats haven't been the best lately. Justin Crawford is still some time away from making the Major Leagues, leaving Marsh and Rojas as the only applicable center fielders for the Phillies.

With Marsh struggling so much to begin the year, there is a real concern going forward. The hope surrounding his development has been all but squashed after his terrible start to the year.

Marsh knows how poorly he's played, and he needs to figure something out soon. Marsh said, I've got to do anything I can to help this ball club win and right now I'm not doing that."

While it's still early in the season, the beloved Phillies outfielder needs to fix his issues and become the Brandon Marsh fans were hoping to see in 2025.
