Ben Joyce Avoids Major Injury Following Pitching Hand Scare
USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Angels have suffered their fair share of Injuries so far through the 2023 season. They've lost some key pieces for a hefty amount of time, and some will be out for the whole season.

The injury bug is something no team wants to get bitten with, and luckily the Halos dodged it in this case. Angels host and reporter for Ball Sports West Erica Weston was among the people who reported that Angels rookie RHP Ben Joyce avoided a serious injury after exiting the game on Friday night.

Joyce exited Friday night's game against the Seattle Mariners after just throwing 8 pitches. The 22-year-old was removed with right-hand irritation. The injury didn't look good, and many fans were worried it might be severe.

Luckily the Angels and Joyce dodged that bullet, and he will be going on the road trip with the team to continue recovering from the injury with the team.

Joyce has been a revelation for the Halos, as he is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and five strikeouts in four innings and five games. He is as lethal as they come, and he is sure to play a major role down the stretch for the team.

Hopefully, we can see Joyce back on the mound this upcoming road trip.
