Best MLB strikeout bets: 3 strikeout props for Wednesday 6/14

All 30 teams around the MLB will be in action Wednesday, which means there are plenty of valuable bets to target. Let's start with the pitchers and break down my three favorite strikeout props for Wednesday night.

Garrett Whitlock over 5.5 Ks (+126 FD)

I'm going to keep fading the Colorado Rockies until they show me something at the plate. Over the last 15 days, the Rockies have the most strikeouts in MLB (142). This is a great matchup for Boston Red Sox starter Garrett Whitlock, who's coming off a six-strikeout performance against the New York Yankees in his last start.

Justin Verlander under 5.5 Ks (+120 FD)

Justin Verlander is starting to lose his fastball (literally) at the age of 40. The veteran pitcher is 2-3 this season with a 4.85 ERA, and he's cleared 5.5 Ks in only two of his seven starts. I think he's going to struggle again against a Yankees lineup that just teed off on Max Scherzer for six runs and chased him in the fourth inning.

Mike Clevinger under 4.5 Ks (-112 DK)

The Los Angeles Dodgers lineup has been on fire lately, averaging 5.9 runs over the last seven games. LA also has the fourth-fewest strikeouts in the MLB over the last 15 days. Mike Clevinger hasn't gone beyond six innings in any of his 11 starts this season, and I think there's a good chance he gets chased early by a lineup that's seeing the ball well.
