Best World Series Prop Bets

Game 3 of the World Series may have been postponed due to weather, but that's not going to stop us from looking ahead at some World Series prop bets. The Series is tied at 1-1, and far from being over, but that doesn't necessarily mean now is a bad time to place some World Series prop bets. There's a ton of prop bets currently out there, but we've got three we really like.

World Series Total Games (Seven, +164 odds)
Bet $100 to $164

We said this series was going to go the full seven games before it started, and that hasn't changed. You can make the argument Houston should be up 2-0, especially after a blowing a five-run lead in Game 1, but that's just who the Phillies are. Philadelphia has had its back against the wall way before the postseason started, and yet, the Phillies just keep on winning. And don't expect that to change anytime soon, especially after Game 3 was postponed.

Game 3 getting postponed benefits Philadelphia more than Houston simply because it doesn't force the Phillies to start Noah Syndergaard. Syndergaard is a solid starter, but he's made just one start this postseason, and is better coming out of the bullpen in a series like this. And maybe more importantly, it moves Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola up an extra day. Assuming Nola starts Game 4, followed by Wheeler in Game 5, the Phillies chances of winning, and in this case, extending this series, increases significantly.

Player to win World Series MVP (Alex Bregman, +750 odds)
Bet $100 to win $750

Kyle Tucker is currently the frontrunner for World Series MVP at 5/1 after hitting two home runs in Game 1 of the World Series, but don't sleep on Alex Bregman. Bregman has a home run and a double already in the World Series, and has reached base safely in every postseason game. Plus, Bregman has played a strong third base throughout the entire postseason, and has plenty of postseason experience. Tucker, Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez might garner most of national media attention, but Bregman is just as deserving.

Pitcher to record the most strikeouts in the World Series (Framber Valdez, -146 odds)
Bet $146 to win $100

Framber Valdez leads all pitchers so far in the World Series with nine strikeouts, and assuming he makes at least one more start during the World Series, he should win this bet with ease. Valdez has been the Astros best starter so far this postseason, and don't expect that to change. Valdez is 2-0 with a 1.42 in three starts this postseason, and better yet, he's got 24 punchouts over 19 innings. That's more than a strikeout an inning, and Valdez has been a workhorse all season.

Valdez set an MLB record with 25 straight quality starts earlier this season, and he's gone at least 5.2 innings in each of his postseason starts. Valdez will likely start either game five or game six (if necessary), which makes this bet a little risky, but with how bad Verlander has been in his career during the World Series, he's the best bet here.
