Is there anything better than cold beer and baseball? It’s a combination that is hard to beat during the season. No matter what kind of beer you drink (or how many), let’s take a look at some of the best action on the Big 12 baseball diamond from the weekend with a nice six-pack.
Cincinnati at UCF (Sat)
While this may not have had a better ending than the Kansas/Oklahoma State game on the same day, this one still was very entertaining to me. The Bearcats struck first, and UCF answered with a pair of runs in the second inning.

But thanks to a sac-fly and a wild pitch in the bottom of the second, Cincinnati recaptured the lead.

The Knights tied it right back up with a solo blast Andrew Williamson in the third.

UCF extended their lead thanks to a two-run shot by Antonio Jimenez to make it 5-3.

But once again, a wild pitch gave Cincinnati another run before Kerrington Cross brought in the tying score.
It turned out nine innings wouldn’t be enough because this one went into extras. There, UCF scored a run in the top of the tenth inning, but Cincinnati had the last laugh when Landyn Vidourek came up with the game-winning clutch hit.

With the win, the Bearcats were able to clinch the series on Saturday.
Kansas
As you will see in my Big 12 baseball power rankings, I am extremely high on the Jayhawks this season. They have been extremely impressive so far this year, and they just swept Oklahoma State this past weekend they outscoring the Cowboys 28 to 14 in three games.

Oklahoma State
If you look at the Big 12 baseball standing, you will find Oklahoma State dead last with a 1-6 record after being swept by Kansas this past weekend. The Cowboys were the favorites to win the Big 12 coming into the season, and their series against Kansas has summed up their season so far.
West Virginia LF Jace Rinehart
Jace had a monster weekend against BYU where he finished with eight RBIs which included his three-run home run in the rubber match against the Cougars.

Kansas RHP Dominic Voegele
There’s a reason Dominic Voegele was named preseason Big 12 pitcher of the year, and we saw that on Friday night. Against a powerful Oklahoma State offense, Dominic went eight innings and allowed just two runs and three hits. He also struck out ten batters during his time on the mound.
Have yourself a night, @VoegeleDominic

Kansas SS Sawyer Smith
When Kansas was down by a pair of runs in extra innings, Sawyer Smith was the hero the Jayhawks needed. Smith hit a three-run walk off blast to not only win the game but secure the series against Oklahoma State.
