The Toronto Blue Jays are in need of a catcher. Apparently, they're looking to sign the best one available in free agency, as are many other franchises.
According to Craig Mish of Sports Grid, the Blue Jays are among a number of teams trying to sign J.T. Realmuto this offseason.
The Toronto Blue Jays are one of the teams that will be vying for free agent All Star Catcher JT Realmuto this Winter. I would expect them to be involved throughout the process. Per sources.

Toronto currently has five catchers on its roster, but Realmuto would be an upgrade over Danny Jansen, Reese McGuire and Alejandro Kirk, who all are 25 years old or younger.
Realmuto is among the top free agents available at any position this offseason and won't come cheap after two solid seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies. The 29-year-old averaged .273 at the plate with 115 RBI and 36 home runs in two years with the franchise.
The veteran catcher isn't the only one Toronto has its sights set on. The Blue Jays have been linked to a number of Major League Baseball's top available free agents this offseason, including Michael Brantley, J.A. Happ, George Springer, D.J. LeMahieu and Justin Turner, among others.
The Blue Jays already signed Robbie Ray to a one-year, $8 million deal and made an offer to Kevin Gausman, who rejected it to remain with the San Francisco Giants.
If Toronto can acquire at least one of those free agents, its roster will be better for the 2021 campaign.
