Entering Sunday, the Toronto Blue Jays found themselves at exactly .500 through 26 games to start the the 2025 MLB season. Toronto has yet to get things going offensively, with several of their key players producing below expectations, including their $500 million man, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

After beating the New York Yankees 4-2 in Game 1 of the series, the Blue Jays look to further decrease New York's lead in the American League East division. But after a weather delay necessitated a schedule change on Saturday, Toronto needed to make some roster changes in preparation for a double-header against the division rival Yankees on Sunday.

The Blue Jays took to X to announce some roster moves ahead of their doubleheader against the Yankees. Per the team, OF Jonatan Clase has been appointed as the 27th man for the doubleheader, while RHP Ryan Burr transferred to 60-day IL.

This season in the minors, Clase has registered 70 at-bats for a .343/.452/.400 slashline and a .852 OPS. The 22-year-old is making his season debut for the Blue Jays on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

Unfortunately, the news is not as positive for Burr. After pitching well for Toronto in 2024, with a 4.13 ERA in 32.2 innings, the sixth-year veteran was put on the shelf to begin the season with his right shoulder injury. It appears he is progressing more slowly than initially expected and will need additional time to recover.

Organizations are typically hyper-cautious when it comes to arm-related injuries for pitchers, and this is no exception.
