Blue Jays' Bichette Cracks AL All-Star Roster

The verdict is in. 

Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette was announced as an American League All-Star reserve on Sunday, joining teammates Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Marcus Semien and Teoscar Hernández on the roster. All four Blue Jays will be making their first All-Star appearances. 

Unlike the All-Star starters — which were decided by fan voting — the reserves were determined by a combination of Player Ballot choices and selections made by the Commissioner's Office.  

The 23-year-old is enjoying another solid season, batting .290 with 15 home runs, 54 RBI, 12 stolen bases and a .819 OPS.

The location of the 2021 All-Star Game — Coors Field in Denver, CO. — is significant for Bichette, as he spent lots of time there as a kid during his father Dante's seven seasons with the Colorado Rockies. 

All-Star festivities begin with the Futures Game on July 11 at 3 PM ET, followed by the Home Run Derby on July 12 at 8 PM ET. The All-Star game itself takes place July 12 at 7:30 PM ET.
