Toronto Blue Jays infielder Ernie Clement has become one of the team’s biggest fan favorites thanks to his heroics during last year’s run to the World Series. Clement made history in 2025 by setting the MLB record for most hits in a single postseason, collecting 30 during Toronto’s march to the Fall Classic.

The 30-year-old arrived in Toronto before the 2023 season on a minor-league deal after two unsuccessful stints with the Cleveland Guardians and Athletics. Since then, he has transformed himself into one of the most valuable players in the league and completely revived his career.

In 2026, he has posted a .281 batting average, .305 on-base percentage, .695 OPS, an American League-leading 13 doubles and nine RBIs. Clement remains one of the best defensive players in MLB and offers elite versatility wherever manager John Schneider needs him.

As Clement continues to thrive in his fourth season with the Blue Jays, he is also expanding his presence off the field. He recently announced a new partnership with WestJet Airlines, officially becoming a player ambassador for the company.

He shared the news in an Instagram collaboration post with the airline. “We’ve teamed up with @ernieclement28, taking our role as the Official Airline of the @bluejays to new heights ✈️ From game day intensity to unforgettable celebrations — this is what it’s all about ⚾,” the caption read.

WestJet, the official airline of the Blue Jays, explained Clement’s new role by writing, “As a WestJet ambassador, Clement will collaborate with the airline on fan experiences, social storytelling and special campaigns celebrating the passion of Blue Jays fans across Canada.”

While Clement now has a new off-field responsibility, his primary focus remains what he does on the diamond. Toronto is preparing for a home series beginning Friday against the Los Angeles Angels, where they hope to get back in the win column.

The Blue Jays have dropped four straight games and now sit tied with the Boston Red Sox for last place in the AL East. Clement’s steady play and growing popularity remain one of the few bright spots as Toronto looks to get back on track.
