The Toronto Blue Jays won the first three games of their four-game set vs. the Boston Red Sox, but fell 4-3 in a 10-inning thriller on Thursday. Both teams had eight hits, two errors, and nine runners left on base.

Neither squad scored until the bottom of the sixth inning, when Alex Bregman hit an RBI single off of Blue Jays (8-6) starter Chris Bassitt. Toronto then struck back in the top of the seventh when catcher Tyler Heineman notched an RBI base knock and Myles Straw scored on an error during Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s fielder's choice.

However, Red Sox (7-7) outfielder Rob Refsnyder scored on a Yimi Garcia wild pitch in the eighth, tying the game 2-2.

George Springer then hit a sacrifice fly to put Toronto 3-2 in the 10th before Jarren Duran hit an RBI single to level the contest in the bottom of the frame. Trevor Story followed up with a bases-loaded infield dribbler to bring in the winning run.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider was upset with the umpires after the game, via MLB.com's Keegan Matheson.

“It’s tough to battle nine hitters and an umpire," the 45-year-old said. "I’ve got all the respect in the world for them, but it wasn’t a great day for him behind the plate.”

Toronto gave up four walks and tossed 105 strikes out of 166 pitches in the game.

The Blue Jays will continue their road trip on Friday against the Baltimore Orioles before hosting the Atlanta Braves on Monday.
